The Flower Farm on the Hill: Our Story
The Flower Farm on the Hill began in 2022 with little more than a whisper of a dream, a handful of seeds, and a whole lot of faith.
My love for growing things began long before the flower farm ever existed. I spent my childhood in my grandfather’s vegetable garden, where I learned the joy of planting, tending, and watching something small transform into something beautiful. That connection to the earth stayed with me and eventually found its way back into my life in an unexpected season.
After the birth of my children, I found myself navigating the challenges of postpartum depression and the overwhelming emotions that can accompany new motherhood. I turned to gardening as a place of healing—a way to slow down, reconnect, and nurture something beyond myself. We created a large vegetable garden on the hill behind our home, and before long, I became fascinated by companion planting. I began weaving flowers among the vegetables, discovering how they could invite beneficial insects, support the garden ecosystem, and add beauty to the spaces where we grew our food.
Somewhere along the way, the flowers began growing something in me, too.
The zinnias and sunflowers I planted became more than garden companions—they became daily reminders of joy, resilience, and the simple beauty found in nature. I started cutting blooms to bring indoors, filling our home with their color and sunshine throughout the growing season. Those flowers sparked an idea that continued to grow: what if I could share this beauty with others?
After countless hours of research, dreaming, and trying to convince myself of all the reasons it might not work, The Flower Farm on the Hill was born.
What started as a small seed of an idea has grown a little more each year into a place where flowers are grown with care, connection, and purpose. Our farm is rooted in the belief that flowers have the power to brighten ordinary days, bring people together, and create moments of beauty and joy.
We are so grateful to be part of your celebrations, your homes, and your everyday memories—and we can’t wait to see what blooms next.
